Terms of Service

The short version

ShiftWell is a wellbeing tool for shift workers. Use it honestly, don't try to break it, and understand it is not a substitute for medical advice. We will treat your data with respect. You can leave and delete everything at any time.

Not medical advice

ShiftWell provides general wellbeing information and AI-generated insights based on your self-reported data. Nothing in the app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated insights are informational only — they are not reviewed by a healthcare professional and should not be used to make medical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns. If you are experiencing a health emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

Pay estimates

The pay calculator provides estimates based on the wage information you enter and publicly available collective agreement data. These are estimates only — not official payroll calculations. ShiftWell is not responsible for discrepancies between estimated and actual pay. Always verify your pay with your employer's official payroll records.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password and do not share your credentials. You must be 18 or older to use ShiftWell. One account per person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Subscription and billing

ShiftWell offers a free tier and a Pro subscription. By subscribing to Pro you agree to the following:

• Billing — your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) until you cancel
• Cancellation — you can cancel at any time from your Profile page via the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then
• Refunds — we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you have a billing issue, contact us and we will work to resolve it fairly
• Price changes — we will give you at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices
• Payment processing — payments are processed by Stripe. ShiftWell does not store your card details

Groups and shared data

When you join a group, your shift availability (time-of-day free windows) is visible to other members of that group. Your event titles, check-in data, and personal health information are never shared. By joining a group you consent to this availability sharing. You can leave a group at any time from the Groups page.

Third-party integrations

Connecting a third-party device or service (such as Oura Ring) is optional. By connecting a third-party integration, you authorize ShiftWell to access the data you select from that service on your behalf. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. ShiftWell is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

Acceptable use

Use ShiftWell for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to access other users' data, reverse-engineer the application, submit false or misleading data in ways intended to manipulate the service, or use it in any way that could harm other users or the platform. Violations will result in account termination without refund.

Your data

Your data belongs to you. We use it to provide the service. We do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You can delete your account and all data at any time from the Profile page. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Service availability

We will do our best to keep ShiftWell available and functioning well. We cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime, data loss, or technical issues. We recommend not using ShiftWell as your sole record of shift schedules or pay calculations.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
